Hey bookworms!
In this post I am going to share with you my reading plans for the coming week 🙂

Still Reading/Listening To:

Going To Start:

never never

Never Never by James Patterson & Candice Fox: If you saw my January Library Book Haul post, you will know that this was one of the many extra books I picked up this month. If you didn’t catch the post and are interested, you can check it out here. You may also have seen that this book has been on my TBR for a long time, therefore I thought it was time that I read it!

_____________________________________________________________________________

I am hoping to have some of these books finished this week for review, as the month is coming to an end shortly (already) and I don’t want to carry any over into February.
What books are you all reading this week?? I would love to hear about them in the comment box below!

Until next time, happy reading!

Weekly Catch-Up | 8th – 14th January

Hey there bookworms!
I know it is Monday, and I usually have this posted on a Sunday, but I have been beyond busy and it completely slipped my mind, so I am going to do this post and then my week ahead post back to back 🙂

Reading This Week:

Keep Her Safe by Richard Parker: This one I began reading this week, and I am currently 33% done, and I am loving it. I received this one through Netgalley, so keep an eye out for my review very soon!

The Chemist (Audiobook) by Stephanie Meyer: I am currently 48% through this one and I need to know what happens to these characters!

Fractured by Dawn Barker: I am in love with this book that I picked up for the Beat the Backlist Challenge. I am sitting at 32% so still have a fair way to go, but I don’t think it will take me too much longer!

Finished/Did Not Finish Reading This Week:

The Dressmaker

I tried so hard to finish this book, but I had to add it to the DNF pile unfortunately. I just could not get into the story, or connect with any of the characters. I really wanted to love this one, but just didn’t get there.

What did you all get up to this week?? I would love to hear all about it in the comments below!
Until next time, happy reading!

Library Book Haul | January 2018

Hi book lovers!
Today I thought that I would share my book haul from the library for this month! I know the month isn’t over yet, but I am not allowing myself to go and get more books this month (you will see why in a minute!) so I thought I would show you all now!
Here are my books borrowed from the library for the month of January…

Ragdoll by Daniel Cole: This one I got through Netgalley ages ago but I never sent it through to my kindle so I never got to read it..I reserved it from the library to finally give it a go as the plot sounds really good!
The Dressmaker by Rosalie Ham: This one has since been returned to the library unfinished, it is my only DNF so far this month, I just couldn’t get into the story or invested in the characters so I gave up..
The Real Mrs. Brown by Brian Beacom: This one I came across randomly while I was looking for something else..I enjoy watching the show Mrs. Brown’s Boys, so I thought I would give the biography a go, I think he has a really interesting story about how he became Mrs. Brown. Hopefully it is a good read.

A Thousand Splendid Suns by Khaled Hossein: This one has been all over my feeds everywhere..while I was perusing the shelves, there it was, so I picked it up. Its not the usual thing I read, but I have seen some good reviews, so I will give it a go..I hope that I am pleasantly surprised by it 🙂
Behind Closed Doors by B. A. Paris: This one has been on my TBR for the longest time, I reserved it to be my February book for the Library Love Challenge so I think I will keep it for my first read of next month.
Never Never by James Patterson & Candice Fox: This one has also been on my TBR for ages..I found it while looking through the shelves so I had to take it home!
Panic by Lauren Oliver: This one grabbed my attention while I was walking around the library, I read the synopsis, and thought it sounded pretty interesting, who knows?

____________________________________________________________________

Did you borrow any books from the library this month?? Have you read any of the ones that I have mentioned??
I would love to hear your comments and opinions! Leave me a comment in the box below!

Until next time, happy reading!

Blog Tour | Escape Claws by Linda Reilly

Escape Claws
A Cat Lady Mystery
by Linda Reilly
Genre: Cozy Mystery
204 pages
Here, killer, killer, killer . . .
For the first time in sixteen years, Lara Caphart has returned to her
hometown of Whisker Jog, New Hampshire. She wants to reconnect with
her estranged Aunt Fran, who’s having some difficulty looking after
herself—and her eleven cats. Taking care of a clowder of kitties is
easy, but keeping Fran from being harassed by local bully Theo Barnes
is hard. The wealthy builder has his sights set on Fran’s property,
and is determined to make her an offer she doesn’t dare refuse.
Then Lara spots a blue-eyed ragdoll cat that she swears is the
reincarnation of her beloved Blue, her childhood pet. Pursuing the
feline to the edge of Fran’s yard, she stumbles upon the body of
Theo Barnes, clearly a victim of foul play. To get her and Fran off
the suspect list, Lara finds herself following the cat’s clues in
search of a killer. Is Blue’s ghost really trying to help her solve
a murder, or has Lara inhaled too much catnip?
Armed with a degree in Criminal Justice, Linda Reilly once contemplated a
career in law enforcement. But life took a twist, and instead she
found her niche in real estate closings and title examinations, where
the dusty tomes in the Registry of Deeds enticed her into solving
mysteries of a different sort. A dyed-in-the-wool New Englander,
Linda lives in New Hampshire with her husband, who affectionately
calls her “Nose-in-a-Book.” A member of Sisters in Crime
and Mystery Writers of America, she loves solving mysteries of the
cozy type. When she’s not pounding away at her keyboard, she can
usually be found prowling the shelves of a local bookstore or
library.

My Review:

This book was sent to me by Rachel at Rachel’s Random Resources so I would firstly like to say thank you for sending it to me and allowing me to be part of this blog tour.
This book follows Dylan, a busking wannabe musician, and Scarlett, a high-end flight hostess. Dylan is determined that he and Scarlett are meant to be together, but she is full of secrets and mistrust, that makes it much harder than Dylan first imagined.

As far as characters go, Dylan was such a wonderful character. He was loving and caring, and only wanted Scarlett, even though she did not make it easy for him.
“He thanked God for the simple pleasures of life, and at that moment, he made a promise he intended to keep: he would never take Scarlett for granted, vowing to cherish her until the day he died”
He was funny, and I found myself giggling out loud at some of the things he came out with throughout the book.
Scarlett, on the other hand, was a tough air-hostess, who obviously had a past that made her mistrusting and a bit angry, it just made me want to keep reading t find out what her issues were. Some of the time she annoyed me, she could see that Dylan was trying to apologise, or make up for something, but she still walked away. She panicked easily and running seemed to be her go-to move.

I really enjoyed the plot of this book, the setting too was wonderful – London is my favourite place in the world, so it was an automatic win for me! The writing was also really easy to get into, I was giggling, and emotional – really felt what the characters were feeling, which made it a great reading experience for me..I didn’t want to put it down until I knew how Dylan and Scarlett’s story ended.

I gave this book a 4 out of a possible 5 stars, I loved it! Thank you again to Rachel and Jackie for allowing me to read and review this book for you! Anyone who is looking for a fun summer romance read, look no further than Air Guitar and Caviar!

Meet the Author:

Air Guitar - Jackie Ladbury

Jackie Ladbury was desperate to become a journalist when she left school but was ousted within minutes on the day of the exam at her local rag because she’d forgotten to bring a pen.

Short and sharp lesson learned.

Her budding writing career was not on hold for long, though, as Jackie found herself scribbling love stories of pilots and ‘hosties’ while she flew in airplanes of various shapes and sizes as a flight attendant herself.

Fast forward a good few years and, after being short-listed in a couple of prestigious romantic writing competitions, Jackie decided it was time to discard her stilettos, say goodbye to the skies and concentrate on writing romantic novels, where the only given is a guaranteed ‘happy ever after.’
