One psychotic soldier was to blame.
Years ago, Skye Everwood survived a vicious assault, and now, she’s losing her eyesight as she faces her worst nightmare… Her attacker is back to finish what he started.
When the love of her life unexpectedly shows up at her restaurant, she knows it’s not a coincidence. Skye never understood why Bodhi King disappeared after that fateful day. Their plans to get married went up in smoke, just like her dreams to stay in the JAG Core. Unsure if she can trust him with her heart—let alone her life—she searches to find answers to why he left in the first place.
I received this book from Bewitching Book Tours to read and review honestly as part of a blog tour.
This book follows two main characters – Skye and Bohdi – who met in the army and were planning a life together before Skye was involved in an accident which sent her almost blind. An accident caused by another soldier, who is determined to finish what he started.
We join the story in the small town of Glory, Louisiana where Skye has been living a quiet life, hiding from the psycho soldier who wants to kill her, when Bohdi shows up out of nowhere and becomes part of her life again. It turns out that the man she has been hiding from is coming to the small town to finish the job, while the town is distracted by a competition.
This was a very short book, so there was not a lot of time for story or character development to occur. Due to this, I did find it hard to connect with the main characters – except for Bohdi in the fact that he loved Skye and would do anything to protect her.
I do love stories that are set in small towns, and I really did enjoy reading about this one, and how tight and caring the community was..really makes you wish you lived somewhere like that.
One thing that I will say that I definitely did not like was the descriptions of the sex scenes. For such a short book, there were a fair few of these scenes, and I just don’t enjoy reading them when the language and descriptions are so strong. Don’t get me wrong, I don’t not like the sex scenes themselves, but I would have preferred that Malloy leave some (or most) of the details up to the reader’s imaginations. Just a warning if you are planning on reading this one, that there is strong sexual language involved.
All in all, I gave this book a 3/5 stars as it was enjoyable, but not the best that I have read in this genre. I did struggle to get through it, I just don’t think that it was for me, which is a shame.
Thank you for reading my review of Fear Nothing by Amber Malloy. I hope that you enjoyed it, and until next time, happy reading!!
