What’s Next (#1)

Hey bookworms!

I have just discovered this meme, hosted by Icey Books, and I thought it could be very handy seeing as I struggle to choose my next read. I have a whole heap of books that I got from the library, so maybe you can help me pick my next read? Here are the options:

Option 1: Death du Jour by Kathy Reichs

death-du-jour

This one is the second in the Temperance Brennan series. I loved the first one, I struggled to put it down, so I am pretty excited for the second one..

Assaulted by the bitter cold of a Montreal winter, the American-born Dr. Temperance Brennan, Forensic Anthropologist for the Province of Quebec, digs for a corpse where Sister Elisabeth Nicolet, dead over a century and now a candidate for sainthood, should lie in her grave. A strange, small coffin, buried in the recesses of a decaying church, holds the first clue to the cloistered nun’s fate. The puzzle surrounding Sister Elisabeth’s life and death provides a welcome contrast to discoveries at a burning chalet, where scorched and twisted bodies await Tempe’s professional expertise. Who were these people? What brought them to this gruesome fate? Homicide Detective Andrew Ryan, with whom Tempe has a combustive history, joins her in the arson investigation. From the fire scene they are drawn into the worlds of an enigmatic and controversial professor, a mysterious commune, and a primate colony on a Carolina island. (Goodreads)

Option 2: Hopeless by Colleen Hoover:

I love Colleen Hoover! So when I saw this on the shelf I had to get it! Should this be my next read??

Sometimes discovering the truth can leave you more hopeless than believing the lies…

That’s what seventeen-year-old Sky realises after she meets Dean Holder. A guy with a reputation that rivals her own and an uncanny ability to invoke feelings in her she’s never had before. He terrifies her and captivates her all in the span of just one encounter, and something about the way he makes her feel sparks buried memories from a past that she wishes could just stay buried.

Sky struggles to keep him at a distance knowing he’s nothing but trouble, but Holder insists on learning everything about her. After finally caving to his unwavering pursuit, Sky soon finds that Holder isn’t at all who he’s been claiming to be. When the secrets he’s been keeping are finally revealed, every single facet of Sky’s life will change forever. (Goodreads)

Option 3Broken Juliet by Leisa Rayven:

broken-juliet

This is the second book in the Starcrossed series. I loved the first book and cannot wait to get started on this one! Do I pick this one to read next?

Some loves never let you go…

Cassie swore she’d never forgive Ethan for breaking her heart when they were in acting school years ago. He was her one great love, and when he refused to love her back, a part of her died forever…or so she thought. Now she and Ethan are sharing a Broadway stage, and he’s determined to win her back. Finally he’s able to say all the things she needed to hear years ago…but can she believe him? Has he really changed, and what makes this time different from all his other broken promises?

The answer lies somewhere in the past, and now the truth will come to light. Will Cassie rediscover what it’s like to be trusting and open again—the way she was before Ethan? Or is it too late for these star-crossed lovers? (Goodreads)
